Located in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Maskwa Medical Center is an innovative concept that focuses on accelerating the process of patient care while improving access for residents in and around the Peace region. The center will provide access to medical specialists and services while providing training for physicians locally.
The intent is to accelerate and unlock the referral cycle of patients needing care and provide access to valuable resources not currently provided in the Northern Alberta region. To achieve this goal, Maskwa is proposing a three(3) storey Medical Center sitting on a concrete parkade with development contained within ~77,000 above grade gross square feet, located adjacent to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and connected via pedway to existing parking. The structure will be engineered to accommodate an additional level as future development. The structure and building details have not yet been fully determined however preliminary client direction outline a typical building structure containing a concrete foundation with wood and steel framed construction, a combination of exterior products including aluminum composite panels, substantial glazing and a flat roof containing an EPDM-like membrane.
We are thankful for this opportunity to act on the owners behalf as their project representative and believe this project enhances the City of Grande Prairie and the neighboring communities for decades to come. We fully endorse the concept of this publicly funded, not-for-profit medical facility under an innovative arrangement with the Government of Alberta.
